This half term you will be introduced to the music department, some basic musical vocabulary and the apple macs that we use in the department. We shall do some singing, keyboard playing and we will start to use Garageband.

Autumn 2 The Orchestra
This half term we will be looking at the orchestral instruments. In each lesson we will watch videos of different instruments and then learn to play them on the keyboard and record them into Garageband. We will start to look at how to read music on the treble clef. We will also be looking at Bill Bailey's Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra for some funny facts!

Spring 1 Keyboard & Garageband Skills
This half term we will carry on with our knowledge of the treble clef and start to compose our own pieces. We will go through the half term focusing on an outcome after 6 weeks.

Spring 2 Singing
This half term we will be focusing on singing. There are many genres of singing and we will be looking at 5 different areas. We will be doing lots of singing and recording, so get your best singing voices at the ready!

Summer 1 Music from Around the World
This half term we will be taking a journey around the musical world (all from the comfort of Q2!). In each lesson we will listen to different music from different countries and play as much as we can! There will be drumming, singing and playing the keyboards. As well as carrying on with our musical knowledge of the stave and the treble clef we will be looking at other ways of writing down music.

Summer 2 Performing
For our final half term of year 7 we will be looking at performing. This will include singing and instrumental playing. We will look back over the year and recap all of our knowledge that we have gained from the other areas that we have studied.
